Laurens CSD adjusts coaching roster; rescinds and reassigns girls basketball positions

At the Nov. 19 board meeting the Laurens Central School Board rescinded the appointment of Christine Cox as Girls Modified Basketball coach and appointed Michelle Kane as the Girls Modified Basketball coach for the 2025-2026 school year. The motion to rescind and to reappoint was recorded as carried 4-0-0. The minutes show the reassignment was handled with an explicit motion and second.
The board also approved a series of extracurricular and personnel items: Mitchel Barra named Boys' JV Basketball coach (retroactive to Nov. 17, 2025), John Czarnecki listed as an unpaid volunteer Boys' Varsity coach, and a roster of event workers (scorekeepers, clock operators, chaperones) to be paid $40.00 per evening event. Cassidy Moxley was appointed as a non-certified substitute teacher at $105 per day, and Michael Tracy as a substitute teacher aide at $15.50 per hour (rising to $16.00 on Jan. 1, 2026). Several peer tutors under the CROP program were approved at $15.50 per hour, increasing to $16.00 on Jan. 1, 2026.
