Dr. Loper raised the recurring request for late bussing to serve private and parochial school students and said he shared a cost memo from Mr. McDade estimating the expense at about $3,300,000.
"The cost to that, as per the memo for mister McDade, is about $3,300,000," Dr. Loper said, and he warned that adding late bussing would force the district to eliminate newly proposed programs, increase class sizes, or identify new revenue to cover the expense.
He noted the board has discussed late bussing in past years and asked whether members wanted to revise the proposed budget to include it; the board did not vote to revise the budget during this meeting and moved the budget back to committee for further review.
