District staff and student representatives used the meeting to report on student achievements across schools.
Staff described a recent district concert that showcased band, chorus and orchestra; the Tri‑M Music Honor Society played a role in recognizing outstanding student leaders. Memorial Junior High competed in the Western Long Island Regional Science Olympiad against 43 teams, placing 10th overall while team B placed 15th and collectively earned 12 awards. Memorial also hosted a career fair with more than 100 community members, and 17 students were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society.
Student representatives from North and South summarized school‑level activities: North noted a pep rally and concerns about shorter spring break timing; South highlighted Long Island Science and Engineering Fair awards (senior Hamza Mohsen earned first place and an International Science and Engineering Fair invitation), a district music scholarship recipient (Isabella Dombrowski), Black Student Union events, a revived student talent show and various field trips.
