District introduces new fine and performing arts director and honors student musicians and artists

VALLEY STREAM CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT officials opened the district’s music and art awards and introduced a newly hired director for fine and performing arts.
The superintendent/administrator said attendees were welcomed to celebrate students and asked teachers and administrators to stand for recognition. The administrator introduced "our new District Director of Fine and Performing Arts, Miss Monique Redflop," and Redflop, speaking on her first day in the role, said, "Once again, my name is Monique Redflop and I am honored to be here tonight." She thanked teachers and families and said she looked forward to getting to know students and programs across the district.
Following the introduction, staff called recipients from Central High School for awards and photos, then Memorial, North and South followed with lists of music and art recognitions. Administrators asked each school cohort to come forward for a group photo and noted there would be a short intermission for individual pictures. No policy votes or financial actions accompanied the ceremony.
