District completes digital school mapping; emergency services linked to plans

District staff updated the board on a completed school-mapping project intended to satisfy state requirements and to improve emergency services integration. Contractor Geocom scanned buildings, produced floor plans with classrooms, AEDs, cameras and other key assets and linked the products to 911 and the sheriff's office for faster emergency response.
"This is what our old mapping looked like," staff explained while showing the new digital floor plans and noting fire extinguishers, cameras and AED locations are clearly marked; staff said principals will review their building maps and confirm classroom labeling before the district finalizes uploads to emergency partners. The board received the update for information.
