Helix athletics wins $10,000 OSAA grant; hires new assistant football coach

Athletic Director Tammie Parker updated the board on athletics staffing, competition results and grant support. Parker said five high school track athletes qualified for the state meet in Eugene and noted that Nate Fuller resigned as the high school assistant boys basketball coach; the district hired Mindy Arnold as assistant football coach. Parker told the board the district applied for and received a $10,000 OSAA grant to help start the football program.
Parker also read coaches’ stated values that will guide program development and confirmed fall volleyball and football schedules are set.
