The board advanced several governance and health‑safety documents with first readings at the Dec. 17 meeting. Trustees approved the first reading of Policy 5251 (Conflicts of Interest) as amended and later approved the first reading of Policy 3424 and procedure 3424P addressing opioid-related overdose reversal.
During the first reading of Procedure 3416P (Medication at School) trustees asked staff for more information about administering nasal spray formulations that include controlled substances and recommended adding a provision that medical services be called after use of epi‑pens or Narcan. The motions for first readings carried unanimously where recorded.
