Marion Center work session lists multiple resignations, hires and a retirement

The board accepted resignations from two instructional aides, accepted a custodian retirement effective Oct. 31, approved multiple substitute appointments and recommended several hires including custodial and long-term substitute positions.
The board on Oct. 20 accepted the immediate resignation of Karissa Dowell (Rayne instructional aide) and the resignation of Kevin Dunmire as a Rayne instructional aide, and accepted the retirement notice of custodian Gary Kanouff, effective Oct. 31, 2025. The minutes also record approval recommendations to hire Joseph Rupert as an 8-hour Rayne custodian and to hire Kevin Dunmire as an 8-hour Rayne custodian (item listed in the personnel section of the packet). Justin Hill's request for paternity leave and unpaid days for Savannah Santiago (Sept. 26–Oct. 1, 2025, plus follow-ups) were also recorded.
The board recommended additions to substitute lists: Nutrition Services substitutes Brittany Royer and Maranda Neal; Guest Teacher Colleen Ackerson; Instructional Assistant Lillian Martin; and recommended hiring McKenna Bothell as a long-term Life Skills substitute at a pro-rated salary of $32,500 with single benefits. The minutes list these personnel items for approval as presented.
