District counsel reported to the board that a matter the office handled in Suffolk County resulted in judicial support for rescinding a separation agreement entered into with an administrator.
The district counsel said the administrator made "false statements during the process of entering into that agreement, which were later turned out to be fraudulent," and that the court found a "rational basis for a school district to rescind the agreement that was entered into fraudulently." Counsel presented the report as part of the attorney's report to the board; trustees received the update without further action recorded in the meeting minutes.
The report was informational; counsel did not recommend immediate board action in the transcripted remarks.
