Trustees assign standing committees, liaisons and school safety teams

The board set standing committee chairs and membership for the 2026–27 school year. The chair named Trustee Foley as chair of the education committee with Trustee Matthews as a member; Trustee Ponce was named chair of the policy committee and Trustee Farrell chair of the business committee. Trustee Grosso and Trustee Matthews were assigned to the facilities committee.
The board also approved liaisons and representatives: a NISBLA delegate and alternate were appointed; Trustee Matthews was named liaison to the budget advisory committee; and Trustee Grosso and Trustee Foley were appointed as residency committee representatives for the Valley Stream Central High School. School safety teams for James A. Deaver, Howell Road, Miller Avenue and Willow Road schools were approved with named members "as listed in the motion."
