During preliminary comments Melissa Lawson raised the Central Elementary playground. Superintendent Dr. Eric Briggs told the board that the South Williamsport PTO had donated $45,000 to a playground fund in 2025–26 and that the current PTO would donate an additional $25,000, bringing committed donations to $70,000 for playground improvements.
Dr. Briggs presented specific equipment and surfacing options discussed by the district, including rubber flooring, an accessible swing, tube and spiral slides, and a GaGa pit. The presentation listed equipment options for future procurement; no final purchase motion or vendor selection for playground equipment is recorded in the minutes.
