The South Williamsport Area School Board on Jan. 12 reviewed consultant estimates for major facility work and an athletic-field buildout that range into the millions of dollars. Damion Spahr of SitelogIQ reported priority items at the Junior–Senior High School with a target estimate of $2,660,000, off-site athletics at $2,500,000 and additional future projects of $3,710,000.
Ernest Graham of ELA Sports presented three field scenarios: Option A (running track plus synthetic turf) estimated at $3,919,333; Option B (synthetic turf phase 1) estimated at $1,817,705; and Option C (synthetic turf at the cul-de-sac) estimated at $1,756,361. Superintendent Dr. Eric Briggs summarized the presentations for board members but the minutes record no motion to authorize construction or vendor selection at this meeting. The discussion was presented for the board’s information and potential next steps.
