Darlington board hires coaches, summer staff and classroom assistants after executive session
Summary
Following an executive session under Wisconsin Statutes 19.85(1)(c), the board approved hiring multiple candidates including an assistant football coach, varsity boys basketball coach, summer cleaners, musical and play directors, a tech ed teacher, and School-To-Work assistants; one hire was tabled and one vote included an abstention.
After meeting in closed session under Wisconsin Statutes 19.85(1)(c), the Darlington board returned to open session and approved several hires brought forward from the executive session.
Motions carried to hire Jordan Rolland as an assistant football coach (motion by Crist, seconded by Stauffacher) and Will Schwartz as varsity boys basketball head coach (motion by Crist, seconded by Zuberbuhler). The board approved a slate of summer cleaners—Cagyn Paisly, Sean McGranahan, Amanda Risser, Stacey Hutchcroft, Meegan Ritchie and Courtney Moncrief—and approved DJ Benischek as Tech Director (light and sound) for the fall musical and spring play, Jimmy Whitcomb as Spring Play Director, and Jaycie Schliem as Assistant Musical Director. The board tabled hiring an Agriculture Teacher.
Motion by Crist, seconded by Stauffacher, approved hiring Brady Horne as high school Tech Ed Teacher; the minutes note Zuberbuhler abstained on that hire. The board also approved hiring Lily King and Aiko Campos as 4K Assistants and Jennifer Alonso and Jonas Lobato-Sayago as ESL Assistants at DEMS through the School-To-Work program. All motions recorded in the minutes are noted as "Motion carried" unless otherwise specified.
