Policy committee notes multiple WASB policy items for May review

The Policy Committee spent part of its April 8 meeting reviewing items on the WASB policy table, including Policy 221 (District Administrator job description), Policy 345.11 (High School Class Rank), Policy 381.1 (Religion in Schools) and Policy 444 (School-age Parents/Married Students). The committee noted guidance from the Wisconsin Association of School Boards (WASB) that several of these items could be covered under Policy 411 (Equal Educational Opportunities).
Committee members recommended that these policies be reviewed at the May Policy Committee meeting and did not advance any of them for a first reading in April. The minutes record the committee's plan to consolidate and clarify overlapping policy language where appropriate.
