The Okemah Board of Education on April 15 approved four resignations and approved three adjunct teaching appointments.
Resignations approved were Laci Bearce, Rachel Goff, Chris McMullen and Darin Duncan; each resignation was approved by motion of J.C. Haddox with a second by Randy Colbert and a recorded 4–0 vote (one absent). The board also approved adjunct hires: Clara Keawphalouk as adjunct high school English teacher; Jeffery McVeigh as adjunct instructor for Statistics and Probability and Earth and Space Science; and Chauncey Goff as adjunct elementary teacher. Those adjunct appointments were each approved by motion and recorded unanimous votes among members present.
The resignations and adjunct appointments were listed on the agenda and approved in open session following executive-session consideration of personnel items; the transcript contains the motions and vote tallies but no extended remarks by departing staff or the adjunct appointees.
