The Okemah Board of Education voted to enter executive session May 18 under Oklahoma statute O.S. 25, Sec. 307(B)(1) to discuss personnel matters. The motion to enter executive session was made by J.C. Haddox, seconded by Randy Colbert and passed in the initial recorded tally with four yeas and one absence (Mekko McGirt listed absent for the motion).
After returning to open session, the board recorded votes on the personnel items that had been listed on the executive-session agenda and then took action on resignations and at least one hiring. The minutes identify the executive-session statutory citation and list the personnel matters considered; the meeting then proceeded to formal votes in open session on those items.
