Central Cambria approves markerboard, cafeteria equipment and HVAC contracts; cleaning services renewed

The Property and Building Committee reported multiple facility procurements and contracts that the board approved on June 8. Darr Construction Inc. (Berlin, PA) was awarded a $61,750 contract for cafeteria hot water tanks and installation to be paid from the Cafeteria Fund. Neff Specialties LLC (Hastings, PA) was awarded $64,500 to replace whiteboards with markerboards at Central Cambria Elementary after mold issues last summer; this will be paid from the General Fund. A server-room HVAC replacement in the high school/middle school was approved at $13,650, to be paid through a PCCD grant.
The board approved an after-school cleaning services agreement with B&T Services for the 2026–27 school year at $392.87 per day at Cambria Elementary and $464.48 per day at the High School (a 2.5% increase). The board also authorized use of the Central Cambria stadium by Kevin O'Brien for an Annual EAS Soccer Skills Camp beginning July 23, 2026; all motions were seconded and carried unanimously.
