A trustee asked about timing for the district's next phase of its energy performance contract (EPC). Dr. Farrelly replied that the district must complete and close out EPC Phase 2 before initiating Phase 3 and said the board should expect the EPC Phase 3 conversation in late fall after Phase 2 is fully closed and aligned with the forthcoming facilities five-year study.
"We can't complete or start an an EPC 3 until EPC 2. All of the pieces have completely been closed out," Dr. Farrelly said, indicating the district will merge findings from the facility study with EPC planning and then seek board authorization for next steps. Board members noted possible funding risks and the need for timing to align with available incentives and credits; Dr. Farrelly said the board will revisit the proposal once EPC 2 is finalized.
