The meeting opened with a student report from Zoe Gonzales that listed fall activities and upcoming events, including the high school's performance of Check, Please, the 8th‑grade open house on Nov. 20, parent‑teacher conferences Dec. 10‑11 and the Hackensack–Teaneck Thanksgiving football game with a parade on Nov. 26.
Philip Brophy — a teacher and Muslim Student Association adviser — told the board the association, in partnership with Maciano's and the administration, successfully brought halal food options to the high school cafeteria and created space for Friday Jummah prayers. Trustees thanked students and staff for civic engagement and noted city and community groups' efforts (Rotary, Center for Food Action) to support families affected by SNAP interruptions.
