Resident urges better transition planning for students on IEPs

"Transitions are really important for kids, especially on IEPs," the resident said, describing a recent incident at one school where a teacher resigned and students returned after break to find a new teacher without a formal transition process. The resident called the decision "disappointing" and said it eroded trust between families and the district.
She thanked the substitute teacher who stepped in and urged the board to consider policies that preserve continuity for vulnerable students.
