The WEST GENESEE CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT Board of Education approved the district safety plan and the related code of conduct for the 2026–27 school year following a staff presentation.
A district presenter summarized the review process, saying, "We have 39 community members total, that all had input and review on the 2 documents." The presenter told the board the plans had been posted on the district website and a Google feedback form was opened on June 25; there were no submissions as of August 5. The presenter outlined updates including revised DASA (Dignity for All Students Act) contacts at each building, attention to AED availability and annual training for device responders, door-security considerations for exterior and interior doors, revised emergency-response protocols and signage, and an added reference to state regulations governing toileting and diapering procedures for younger students.
Board members raised no questions and the safety plan was placed on the regular agenda for adoption. Under action item 5.1 the board moved, seconded and approved the plan by voice vote; the meeting transcript records "All in favor? Aye." The presenter indicated any building-level vacancies will be covered by designated backups in the plan.
The approval formalizes the procedures staff will use for emergency response and student-staff conduct for the coming school year. The presenter said the plan emphasizes clear lines of communication among staff, teachers and first responders. The board did not record a roll-call tally in the transcript; the motion carried by voice vote.
