The district presented a package of attendance-focused recommendations intended to reduce chronic absenteeism among the youngest students and improve overall student access. "Our 1st recommendation, is to establish an attendance PLC," the presenter (Speaker 14) said, laying out six specific steps including consistent Synergy reporting, family check-ins on day 1 and follow ups, monthly recognition for perfect attendance and two transportation proposals to reduce barriers for Lincoln students.
One proposed pilot called the "Start Strong" bus would run a set morning timeframe to pick up students who miss their bus, bring them to school for breakfast and ensure they get to class. Administrators said the vehicle would be a dedicated Type 10 vehicle at Lincoln next year and that staffing would be drawn from Lincoln's staff who already have lower adult-to-student ratios. Board members asked for operational clarification on vehicle type, staffing and radius definitions; administrators said details would be further developed as part of implementation planning.
