Tiffany Cox introduced faculty and students from Winter Lakes High School to showcase career and reengagement programs.
Student Yvette described arriving at Winter Lakes behind on credits and struggling with ADHD; she credited staff support and the school’s hands-on programs with helping her graduate and discover a career path in cosmetology. "When my parents first enrolled me into Winter Lakes, everything changed," Yvette said. Tiffany Cox walked the board through cosmetology activities, off-campus trips, partnerships with Trio, Aspire and Oregon Goes to College funding, and plans for college and career week March 9–12. Cox also noted the program’s new efforts to become a Pearson testing center to support GED and other assessments, funded in part by grants.
Cox invited board members to volunteer for mock interviews and resume sessions and highlighted a student-run nail store pilot as a hands-on entrepreneurship opportunity; staff said there are business cards and samples available at the back table for board members to view.
