MPISD trustees receive training on Head Start ERSEA; no public forum requests

The Mount Pleasant Independent School District Board of Trustees convened a workshop meeting on Feb. 23, 2026. Board President Yvonne Hampton called the meeting to order at 4:34 p.m., saying, "This meeting of the Mt. Pleasant Independent School District is called to order. Let the record show that a quorum of board members is present, that this meeting has been duly called and that Notice of this meeting has been posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code Chapter 551." The clerk recorded trustees Luke Anderson, Sandy Bible, Buddy Blue, Kim Crabb, Juan Duenez, Yvonne Hampton and Kenny Thompson as present; no absences were reported.

Jamie Cook, Director of the Child Development Center, and Katie Fite, Assistant Principal, led a training workshop for the superintendent and trustees on Head Start / Early Head Start Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment and Attendance (ERSEA). The presenters covered program rules and district procedures related to screening and enrolling eligible children and maintaining attendance records.
