Administrators told the board that most summer projects proceeded without major delays but that water infiltration discovered in third-grade classrooms will require excavation and installation of a water barrier. They said a kitchen hood issue that initially looked like a $60,000 retrofit was reduced to a $3,000 fix after a new inspector reviewed the project.
On finance, the administrator reported about $1.3 million remaining in referendum dollars after this summer’s projects and said the district is budgeting approximately $400,000 for potential arbitrage repayment. Preliminary property valuations across the district rose about 3.7 percent, which will inform revenue-limit calculations and a projected mill-rate change roughly comparable to prior years. The board asked for a more detailed revenue-limit worksheet at the September meeting.
