The board approved a $47,200 bid from Annie Midwest Fireproofing and Insulation to address attic insulation and air-sealing problems at Pecatonica Elementary after a Building Envelope Professionals assessment found uneven or missing insulation, punctured vapor barriers and unsealed mechanical penetrations.
Speaker 5 detailed the assessment findings and said CG Schmidt solicited bids; board members asked whether the bid would address the specific findings and raised typical concerns about surprises such as animal droppings. "We found lots of areas where we could probably beef that up," the administrator said, summarizing the consultant’s report. The motion passed and the work is expected to be scheduled during a school break (winter or spring), depending on project length.
