Silver Star fiber installations nearing mainline completion after utility strikes

Eric Heap of Silver Star told the Council that residential fiber installations are progressing and the main fiber infrastructure is expected to be substantially completed the following week, with remaining work focused on residential service connections. He apologized for disruptions after several utility strikes and thanked the Town and Lower Valley Energy for cooperation during remediation efforts.

Heap reported that vacuum excavation is being used where possible to reduce disruptive strikes but that abandoned and inaccurately located underground utilities remain a challenge; he confirmed Silver Star will address post-winter roadway settlement repairs and discussed the temporary staging area used during construction. Council and Mr. Heap also discussed whether impact fees should be considered for future utility projects.
