Santiam Canyon board holds first read of multiple policy updates, schedules second reading for December

At the Nov. 12 meeting the board received a first reading of proposed policy updates covering board elections (BBB), member qualifications (BBBA), removal from office (BBD), vacancies (BBE), disposal of district property (DN), and field trips and special events (IICA; IICAA for trips).
Superintendent Krista Nieraeth gave a brief overview of the reasons for the recommended changes and invited questions; none were raised. Nieraeth said the administration will make the changes and present the revised policies on the December agenda for a second reading and final vote.
