Rose Lyness, a senior class president at SJSHS, presented the student report at the Nov. 12 Santiam Canyon board meeting and described takeaways from the Oregon Student Council Association (OSCA) conference she attended in early November.
Lyness said the conference helped her see perspectives outside the district and shared a memorable phrase from the event: "lose your cool card." She told the board she hopes to bring the conference’s enthusiasm and ideas back to the SJSHS leadership class and to use what she learned to energize fellow student leaders. The board thanked her for the report.
