Santiam Canyon finance report flags Nov. 19 state revenue forecast

During the finance portion of the Nov. 12 meeting, Nichole Cooper presented the district financial report and said the board is "waiting to see what the state’s revenue forecast on November 19th will look like." Superintendent Krista Nieraeth told the board that the Legislature has requested reduction plans from state agencies, including the Oregon Department of Education, due next week; if the forecast requires cuts, those options could be presented to the Legislature in February.
Cooper said the district’s full financial report is available online. Board members did not request additional detail during the meeting; the forecast and any required state reductions will determine whether the district needs to consider budget adjustments for the remainder of this fiscal year or next.
