Board told to complete OGEC public meetings training; staff to send class link

During the Board Governance training on Dec. 4, Kristen Miles reviewed public meetings law and told board members they must complete OGEC-approved training for public officials.
Board member Carl Anderson asked where to find the required class. Krista Nieraeth, listed among district staff present, said she would send a link to board members for the OSBA course that satisfies the requirement: "she would send the link to all the board members that would fulfill that requirement from OSBA," according to the meeting record.
Miles also indicated that she would distribute the presentation to board members following the session. There was discussion throughout the training, but no vote or policy change recorded regarding the public meetings law or training requirement during the work session.
