Xoe Jacobs, introduced by high school staff during the Oct. 8 meeting, told the board she has participated in student leadership since her freshman year after initially declining in eighth grade. She said participating in leadership 'brought her out of her shell' and that she hopes to help other students do the same.
Jacobs said she aspires to work with children, is pursuing a NICU nursing job shadow and may attend the University of Oregon for speech-language pathology. When asked what advice she would give other students, Jacobs said: "do something out of your comfort zone."
