The Michigan Center School District Board of Education convened its work session Jan. 26, 2026, at 6:02 PM. President Debra Kruse presided; board members Shelly Canterbury, Monica Shelton, Jessica Villarreal, Chad Whiteaker and Greg Wolvin were listed as present and Jennifer Crabtree as absent. Monica Shelton moved to approve the agenda as presented; Chad Whiteaker supported the motion and the minutes state the motion carried. Later in the meeting, Greg Wolvin moved that the board go into closed session to discuss a personnel issue; Chad Whiteaker supported that motion. The roll-call vote on the closed-session motion recorded Canterbury–yes, Crabtree–absent, Kruse–yes, Shelton–yes, Villarreal–yes, Whiteaker–yes and Wolvin–yes and the board entered closed session at 6:45 PM.
