The Milton-Freewater Unified SD 7 School Board on Oct. 13 unanimously accepted a $20,000 grant from the Milton Freewater Area Foundation to purchase a baseball scoreboard for McRae Ireland Baseball Field. Kelly Kessler moved to approve the grant and Vince Ruzicka seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Superintendent Aaron Duff presented the grant during the action items portion of the meeting. The donation was described as specifically intended “for a baseball scoreboard at McRae Ireland Baseball Field,” and the board voted to accept the funds. The board did not attach conditions to the acceptance and did not specify a procurement timeline during the meeting. The next regular board meeting is Nov. 17, where implementation details could appear on a future agenda.
