The Milton‑Freewater Unified SD 7 board approved several personnel actions on Sept. 8, 2025. Superintendent Aaron Duff presented six extra‑duty contracts for coaching and advising roles (including Jorge Estrada—Head Football Coach; Juan Garcia—Head Boys Basketball Coach; Arnaldo Alvarez—Head Girls Soccer Coach). "MOTION: KELLY KESSLER MOVED TO APPROVE THE EXTRA DUTY CONTRACTS, AS PRESENTED. SECOND: DON MILLER. VOTE: UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED - CLAUDIA LIMON ABSTAINED FROM VOTING," the meeting record states.
The board also accepted certified resignations for Rain Wheeler (Math Teacher—Mac‑Hi), Whitney Lux (Elementary Teacher—Gib Olinger) and Kevin Gwinn (PE Teacher—Ferndale); Kathy Silva moved to approve the resignations and the motion carried. New certified hires approved included Alicia Carillo (Special Education Teacher—Central), Thomas Tangney (PE Teacher—Gib Olinger), Kathryn Rodighiero (Staff Support 6.0 FTE—Gib Olinger & Ferndale) and Gary Eastvedt (Math Teacher—Mac‑Hi); Vince Ruzicka moved to approve the hires and the board unanimously approved them.
