Lebanon Community Library asks West Lebanon to raise annual donation to $800

Michelle Hawk, representing the Lebanon Community Library, told the West Lebanon Township Board that township residents used library services heavily in 2024 and asked the board to increase its annual donation. "Michelle asked the board to consider increasing the donation to $800.00 a year," the minutes recorded. Hawk listed services used by residents, including tech help nights, cybersecurity and social-media classes, phone photography workshops, and a summer reading program.

The library reported that residents borrowed materials totaling $18,000 in 2024 and noted recent facility upgrades, including a renovated restroom. Hawk said the library has begun new fundraisers such as a bingo night and highlighted a partnership with Penn State Health around gardening resources. The board did not record an immediate decision on changing the donation amount; the request was entered into the meeting record for future consideration.
