Board of Adjustment approves garage variance for Bugle M Ranch Trust

The Board of Adjustment on May 20, 2026 approved a variance request that will allow the Bugle M Ranch Trust, represented by applicant Edward “Mike” Hogan, to construct a garage on the trust’s property. The board found that the four statutory variance criteria were satisfied and approved the request with a specific siting and size stipulation.

During a continued public hearing the applicant told the board he had provided additional documentation, including pin locations, a professional survey and property-abstract materials. The board also recorded receipt of a letter from Robert Seivert, president of the South Templar Park Homeowners Association, stating support for the garage. After questions the hearing was declared closed at 5:14 p.m.

Board discussion focused on line-of-sight concerns, the garage’s distance from the road and rear-yard setback requirements. The motion to approve, moved by Miller and seconded by Harris, included a stipulation that the garage's east-side line of sight be even with the south neighboring garage, reduce the garage width from 50 feet to 48 feet, and align the rear of the garage with other buildings on the west side. The motion carried with all members present voting yes (Harris, Hoss, Miller, Schmidt).

The approval is procedural and does not itself authorize construction permits; any building permits or inspections required under city code were not specified in the minutes.
