District reports: Connected Seniors, transportation, horticulture adoptions and financial packet update

Multiple staff reports were included in the board packet and summarized for the public. Technology Director Rusty Raymond said the Connected Seniors program — a student-led initiative at the Port Orford library to improve senior computer skills — currently has five open slots. Chad Berry’s transportation and maintenance report and Business Manager Tara Garratt’s financial report were included in materials; Garratt has added an Appropriations Report to the financial packet and Board Member Carol Hacherl thanked her for the additional information.

DeAnna Williams, Pacific High School principal, reported the horticulture class has adopted Nubian goats and a bearded dragon. Driftwood School Principal Lisa Wendel reported a planned site visit to Cornelius school’s Early Success Academy was postponed due to illness and will instead go to Yoncalla, which staff said is more comparable to the district. These items were provided as informational reports; no board action was taken beyond acceptance of the reports.
