Superintendent Aaron Miller explained there is a difference between daily assessments and state assessments and identified possible causes including test anxiety and core language skills. Williams recommended practice sessions to familiarize students with test language and format, and Judy Miles suggested reinforcing academic vocabulary to help students perform better on assessments.
