The Vernonia School District board voted Feb. 13 to set interdistrict transfer limits at three students per grade for the 2025–26 school year. Board member Greg introduced the motion, the board seconded it, and the chair declared the motion passed with no opposition.
Superintendent described the district's approach as flexible: "The number that we're requesting is 3 students per grade level, interdistrict transfers into the district," noting the district can adjust upward if several transfers arrive for the same grade. Board members said the per-grade approach has worked better than previous flat limits and makes it easier to accommodate changes in enrollment.
