At the request of Family Academy parents and students, the board reviewed and approved a list of online curricula to expand options for home-based and high-school instruction. The list includes Rosetta Stone, eDynamic Learning, ALEKS, BYU offerings, Imagine, Edgenuity, Florida Virtual, StrongMind, Flexpoint and Carone Learning, among others.
Board members noted the distinction between the board's role in approving curriculum and administrators' role in selecting and implementing programs. The board approved the list unanimously and asked staff to compile student comments to assist new families in choosing options.
