The district technology and finance reports at the May 18 meeting described steps to modernize payments and nutrition services.
Technology Director Rusty Raymond said the district is working to obtain credit-card readers and is coordinating cybersecurity work with the ESD and PACE. Business Manager Tara Garratt said the card-reading service will streamline concession sales and student-fee payments, and she is implementing a new nutrition-software system that "will interface with Synergy to alert the kitchen of any food allergies."
Currently the district accepts only cash or checks for miscellaneous purchases; the planned card-reading capability is intended to reduce reliance on cash. No implementation timeline or vendor names were recorded in the minutes.
