The Port Orford-Langlois School District board reversed its earlier approval of a four-day academic calendar for 2026–27 and unanimously adopted a five-day calendar at the May 18 meeting.
Superintendent Aaron Miller told the board that a recent gubernatorial executive order made the previously adopted four-day schedule problematic and recommended switching to the previously reviewed five-day option. Miller said the five-day week "was still a favorable option for parents and staff." Judy Miles moved to amend the March adoption and adopt the five-day calendar; Bob Brown seconded the motion. All five board members voted in favor.
The minutes do not specify the executive order's text or citation; the board recorded the amendment and adoption without attaching the calendar document to the minutes.
