Board accepts retirement, approves multiple hires; one hire carries 7–1 vote

The board also approved adding Krystie Rupert, Diana Bellman and Francine Brilhart to the contracted bus driver list and approved hiring Lindsey Marshall as an instructional aide at Rayne Elementary.
The board approved hiring April Shipley as McCreery elementary administrative assistant as indicated in the AFSCME contract; the motion passed with a recorded vote of 7–1 (Beatty No). Several unpaid-day requests and leave requests (maternity and paternity) were also approved during the personnel portion of the agenda.
