The Marion Center Area School Board voted to create two assigned fund balances from 2023–24 funds: $700,000 for Special Education and $400,000 for Curriculum, Instruction and Technology. Mr. Moretti moved the action and Mr. Hankinson seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
The board recorded the amounts in the minutes and directed staff to account for the assignments. The funds are intended to earmark available resources to address anticipated cost pressures in special education and planned investments in curriculum and instructional technology.
