District readies buildings for school year, to shift testing online per PDE requirement

District leadership told the board the buildings are prepared for the upcoming school year and staff training is scheduled in advance of student arrival. Mr. Weimer reported buildings are "ready for buildings to open and school to start," and Mrs. Gaston outlined staff in-service days on Aug. 18–19 and a formal kickoff set for Aug. 29, 2025.
Administrators also noted a change in statewide testing protocols: the district will move all students to online testing as required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) for the 2025–26 school year. The shift to online testing was presented as a requirement rather than a local policy choice, and staff described the in-service days as part of readiness activities.
