The Marion Center Area School Board on Aug. 11, 2025 unanimously approved hiring Cassandra Titus as an elementary math teacher at McCreery Elementary at a salary of $55,180 under the Marion Center Area Education Association (MCAEA) contract. The motion to hire Titus was moved by Ms. Young and seconded by Mr. Farmery; the motion carried with an aye vote recorded as 7–0.
During the same personnel section the board recommended approving the district substitute lists (teachers, aides, secretaries, nutrition services and custodians), the 2025 IUP student teacher list, bus driver and substitute bus driver lists, and the list of department heads for 2025–26. Administrators also recommended hiring Lydia McIlwain as a long-term special education substitute and Beth Ann Stevens as a long-term kindergarten substitute, each pro-rated at $32,500. The board accepted the resignation of Ryan Kanouff, custodian at Rayne, effective Aug. 7, 2025, and approved transferring Michelle States to the business office as Administrative Assistant effective Sept. 1, 2025.
