Representatives from both employee groups provided updates at the Feb. 17 meeting. Brett Duer of the Seaside Education Association (SEA) said building‑level meetings are going well and the union’s current focus is equity. Megan McKeown, representing OSEA, reported that OSEA and the district reached a collective bargaining agreement and asked the board to investigate workplace safety concerns.
McKeown said the bargaining journey "took a toll on the classified staff," expressed gratitude to the SEA for support and encouraged board members to visit schools to observe staff work. Her remarks and the CBA outcome were recorded in the meeting materials.
