Seaside superintendent announces retirement, will remain through September

Superintendent Susan Penrod announced at the Feb. 17 board meeting that she will retire after seven years with Seaside School District 10 and plans to remain on the job through Sept. 1, 2026, to support a transition process.
Penrod described the district and board as the best she has worked with and said she will remain available to ensure a replacement is found and that a transition is made. Board members reflected on the district’s Hall of Fame induction and staff achievements in subsequent remarks.
