Students win state‑bound STEM prize; musical, prom and Lifeskills events noted

Gifted students placed first and third in the KNEX STEM Challenge with the first-place team heading to Harrisburg; the district also reported a February 21 musical with about 900 tickets sold, a band trip to Toronto, prom on May 9, Lifeskills prom on April 24, and a recommended PMEA All‑State Wind Ensemble trip April 9–12.
Multiple student achievements and upcoming events were highlighted during the work session.
Ms. Mogle reported the gifted program's KNEX STEM Challenge results: the 3rd and 4th grade team won first place and will travel to Harrisburg for the state competition; the 5th grade team placed third. Mr. Magolis and Mr. Peterson reported that the high school musical on Feb. 21 sold approximately 900 tickets; the band marched in Toronto for the St. Patrick's Day parade; prom is scheduled for May 9; and the pep rally will recognize spring athletes. Mrs. Kimmel recommended approval for Ryan Page to take one student to the PMEA All‑State Wind Ensemble at Kalahari Resort April 9–12, 2025.
The Lifeskills prom was announced for April 24 at the country club. These items were presented as informational reports or as recommended approvals to be taken up in a future action meeting.
